Hi, I’m Kaitlyn Leithem.
I am a 24 year old artist who has always loved creating. I started my own business on Etsy this past year to sell my designs on stickers and keychains in hopes others will enjoy my art as much as I do.
Throughout my life I have always liked creating images of things that intrigue me. I learned a lot about different styles throughout high school and college. This helped me get a better sense of proportions and a style that fits me.
In college I took courses that taught me different Adobe programs and how to use them to create pieces online. These included Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and Bridge.
General Resume:
When I turned 16 years old I started my first job at an assisted living facility, where I worked as a dietary aid in the kitchen. I worked at this job for 3 years and became a person that my co-workers could rely on and ask for assistance at anytime. I also became the primary person to train the new hires.
My next job was at Five Below where I started as a sales associate. After a year I got promoted to a part-time manager where I would lead the team. I wanted to make sure I became the manager that my co-workers could look up to and can feel that appreciation. I found that some tasks were unwanted by my co-workers so I would find new ways to motivate my team and would distribute tasks evenly between everyone to stay fair. If we were short handed, I would pick up the extra slack to relieve the pressure from my team. I worked for Five Below for 4 years and it helped me become the team player I am today.
After moving to South Carolina, I was ready for change so I found a new job with Bath & Body Works. At Bath & Body Works, a central key value is their unwavering commitment to exceptional customer service. I underwent comprehensive training and engaged in daily tasks aimed at enhancing the customer experience and ensuring satisfaction.
Business:
I have always dreamed about having my own business where I sell things that I have designed so as I wrapped up my schooling, I was determined to make that dream reality with the help of my husband. In order to start this endeavor, I purchased an iPad, printer, and Circuit. With the app ProCreate, I was able to bring my ideas to life with an apple pencil. I proceeded to print out my creations on sticker paper to sell on Etsy and have been promoting it myself on social media. I started out designing animals that I like such as cats and dogs and as I got more comfortable with the app, I ventured out to make more original designs such as a cat mixed with a strawberry. I am in the process of getting keychains manufactured and am making plans to start selling at in person events.
Education:
As the first member of my family to achieve a college degree, earning my Associates of Arts in 2024 marks a significant milestone in my personal and professional journey. I believe it is pivotal in unlocking opportunities for personal growth and advancement. My dedication to learning extends beyond individual aspirations; I am driven by a desire to create a better life for myself and to provide unwavering support for those around me. This achievement serves as a testament to my determination and resilience in overcoming challenges and pursuing excellence. I am excited to utilize my educational background in graphic design to drive positive contributions towards my own professional growth and development.
